Harney and Perry-Worth Elementary reached a significant milestone this month as they celebrated the groundbreaking ceremonies for the much-anticipated elementary improvement projects.
The elementary improvement projects aim to modernize and revitalize the schools’ infrastructure and improve safety and security, ensuring that our elementary schools remain at the forefront of delivering an exceptional education. These transformational projects will create an environment that encourages and fosters creativity, collaboration, and supports the implementation of innovative teaching methods.
Dr. Jon Milleman, Lebanon Community Schools Superintendent shares the following:
“The start of the renovation projects at Harney Elementary and Perry-Worth Elementary signal the start of our efforts to provide modern, high quality learning environments for all LCSC students. Our community’s support of public education is the reason we are able to provide these opportunities for our students. We look forward to sharing plans for additional schools and facilities in the near future.”
The elementary improvement projects encompass various aspects, including a dedicated STEM learning lab in each elementary school, additional classrooms, upgrades to current classrooms, and upgrades to administrative areas and common spaces. Harney staff and students can expect an expanded cafeteria, a new gymnasium and stage, and much more! Additionally, Perry-Worth staff and students can expect a new kitchen and expanded cafeteria, main office renovation for student support programming, and more!
Lebanon Schools plans to break ground in the fall of 2023 for a new elementary school to be located at the corner of John Bart Road and Fordice Road in Lebanon. Designs are currently being developed for upgrades to Hattie B. Stokes Elementary as part of this project. The elementary projects are scheduled to conclude prior to the 2025-26 school year.
This renovation project has been made possible by our dedicated school board, Gibraltar Design, Meyer Najem, and our generous community members. Their support and dedication have made this transformation a reality and will have a lasting impact on generations of students to come.
Throughout the renovation process, Harney Elementary, Perry-Worth Elementary, and Lebanon Community School Corporation remains committed to providing uninterrupted educational experiences for its students. The school administration and faculty are working diligently to ensure a seamless transition and minimize any disruptions caused by the construction work when students return to school in August.
Designs and plans are currently underway to provide significant upgrades to Lebanon Middle School and construct a new district transportation center.
