LCSC Announces New Director of Elementary and Early Learning
Lebanon Community School Corporation is proud to announce that Maravene Inman has been hired as the new Director of Elementary and Early Learning. The LCSC Board of Trustees voted unanimously to hire Inman at their school board meeting on May 22.
Inman brings a wealth of experience and a strong educational background to her new role. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision, all from Ball State University.
Inman has an extensive teaching background, having taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, first grade, fourth grade, and high ability classes. She has considerable experience working with multilingual learners and special education populations. After several years of teaching in Kokomo, she became the coordinator of education at the early learning center in Kokomo Schools before advancing to the role of elementary principal there. Inman then moved to the MSD of Washington Township Schools, where she served as the principal of John Strange Elementary and Clearwater Elementary, leading them to become high-performing urban schools with diverse student populations. She also played a pivotal role in the design, construction, and opening of the new Clearwater Elementary.
"I’m committed to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all students that intentionally focuses on the individual needs of each student," Inman said. "I value collaboration and open communication among all stakeholders and believe it is essential for student and school success."
In her personal life, Maravene and her husband, Troy, share four children: Chandler, Connor, Maya, and Macy, ranging in age from 17 to 27. She enjoys spending time with her family and their dogs, traveling, and relaxing at the beach. She is also passionate about service to others, being actively involved in several animal rescues, children’s organizations, and Habitat for Humanity.
LCSC is excited to welcome her to the team and looks forward to the positive impact she will bring to the elementary and early learning programs throughout the district.
Dr. Jon Milleman, LCSC Superintendent stated, “I am extremely excited to welcome Mrs. Inman to our team. She brings a wealth of experiences to LCSC including expertise in early childhood education, experience with diverse student populations, knowledge and application of educational neuroscience, and applying systems to align student data to curriculum and instructional practices that have proved successful in improving academic growth and achievement. But, as impressive as her credentials are, I know all will be impressed with her approachability and positive outlook, and her high expectations.”
Mrs. Inman’s first day will be July 1, 2024.
