Maureen Rhoades Named Assistant Principal of Hattie B. Stokes Elementary

Lebanon Community School Corporation is proud to announce that Mrs. Maureen Rhoades has been selected as the new Assistant Principal of Hattie B. Stokes Elementary. The LCSC Board of Trustees voted unanimously to hire Rhoades at their school board meeting on May 22. 

Mrs. Rhoades brings a wealth of experience and a strong educational background to her new role. She grew up in West Lafayette, IN, and is a proud graduate of Purdue University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Special Education. She furthered her education at Ball State University, obtaining a Master of Arts in Education in Educational Administration and Supervision.

Mrs. Rhoades currently resides in Brownsburg with her husband, Nate, and their two daughters, Maggie (4) and Lucy (2). Over the past nine years, she has taught 3rd grade and 2nd/3rd grade High Ability at Brownsburg Community School Corporation. Her leadership roles in Brownsburg include serving on the District Equity Leadership Team and leading staff in numerous trainings. Additionally, she led the Site District Equity Leadership Team, participated in the School Leadership Team, and contributed to Professional Learning Communities (PLC). She is passionate about social and emotional learning, particularly through intentional classroom morning meetings.

Beyond her professional achievements, Mrs. Rhoades is an enthusiastic Purdue Boilermaker fan who enjoys spending time outdoors and reading a good book.

I am passionate about establishing and maintaining meaningful relationships, engaging families, and creating a positive, collaborative school environment. I look forward to my future in LCSC!" said Maureen Rhoades.

LCSC is excited to welcome Mrs. Rhoades to the team at Hattie B. Stokes Elementary. Her dedication to education and her commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive school community make her an invaluable addition to the LCSC family.

Principal Amber Walters states, “Mrs. Rhoades’ positivity and passion for growing all learners will capture the hearts of our school family quickly. Her rich background in best instructional practices, as well as special education will have a positive impact on the students and staff at Hattie B. Stokes. Her student-centered focus and ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families is one of a kind. I am excited to lead, learn and grow alongside Mrs. Rhoades as we prepare for a new best at Hattie B Stokes.”
