Jordan Clouser, School Board Secretary

Q1: Tell us a bit about yourself. What inspired you to join the school board?

My wife and I have lived in the Legacy Core of Whitestown since 2017. We got married in 2018 and now have two little girls who are about to enter into the LCSC community at Perry-Worth Elementary.

Ultimately, my decision to join the school board was driven by a desire to actively contribute to shaping the future of the corporation during the years when my children will be attending school here. I think public education is a cornerstone for our community growth and development, and am excited to be a part of that.

Q2: Please share your role and responsibilities as a school board member?

As a school board member, I have been able to be a part of the policy board, ag advisory board, and building and trades. I think our school board is also lucky to bring various backgrounds together to provide advice and experience for every agenda item we vote on.

Q3: What LCSC achievements or contributions are you most proud of during your time on the school board?

The approval of the new teacher contract is something I am particularly happy with. I love that we are working to be at the top of the pay scale and believe we make the best effort to fully support our faculty and bring in the best possible candidates to our corporation.

Q4: If you could give one piece of advice to our students, what would it be?

Ask questions and ask for help. There is never a bad time to admit you don't understand something or need an extra hand. The teachers and faculty are there to help and are probably a lot more excited about offering a helping hand than you realize!

Q5: What was your favorite school subject growing up?

I loved history and government.

Q6: What is your favorite school event, and why?

I am still a sucker for high school basketball games. There is something about watching high school basketball around this state that is exciting, and I love the way our students and fans support and really become a part of the games.

Q7: What was your all-time favorite school lunch?

Square breakfast pizza. I am still searching for the perfect replica out in the real world.

Q8: What are some of your hobbies or activities outside of being on the school board?

I like to play golf, run and spend time with my family. The more time I can spend outside, the better! Although, there are few things better than time at the pool or beach with my wife, Caroline, and our girls.

Q9: What is your favorite thing about being a part of LCSC? (Traditions, Culture, Community, etc.) OR what makes LCSC unique/special?

Community. We are obviously growing and changing, but I love that our community continues to be invested. I think the participation and input is critical to our ability to do our jobs, so even when difficult conversations are being had, I appreciate the participation and voice of our community members.
