LHS Senior Named Semifinalist for 2024 Coca-Cola Scholars Program

Lebanon High School proudly announces that senior Bianca Coronado has been selected as a semifinalist for the prestigious 2024 Coca-Cola Scholars Program. Bianca's outstanding academic success, exceptional leadership, and dedicated community service propelled her into the top 1.45% of applicants nationwide, a remarkable achievement among over 103,800 candidates.

Driven by a passion for academic excellence and a commitment to community service, Bianca seized the opportunity presented by the Coca-Cola Scholars Program. "When Student Services posted this scholarship opportunity, I knew I needed to apply. It would mean a lot to me because it’s a big scholarship and would help me financially when I head off to college next year," shared Coronado. "It’s not just about the financial support, although that is incredibly helpful. It’s also about the recognition and validation of my hard work and dedication throughout my high school career."

The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation's rigorous selection process involves the submission of applications by semifinalists for review by the program’s reading committee. From this pool, 250 candidates will advance as regional finalists, with 150 ultimately becoming Coca-Cola Scholars, each receiving a $20,000 college scholarship.

"My plans are to go to Purdue University or the Vet Tech Institute at the International Business College to get a degree in Veterinary Nursing," said Coronado. Her passion for this field blossomed during her time at the Zionsville Country Vet Clinic and an enriching internship at the Indianapolis Zoo through the Lebanon High School Work-Based Learning Program.

Coronado’s impact extends beyond academic excellence. Engaged in various clubs throughout her high school journey, she has been an active participant in the sunshine society, LHS Ambassadors, Junior Class Council, Yearbook, Key Club, and Z-Club.

Reflecting on her growth through extracurricular activities, Coronado said, "Through the course offerings, extra-curricular activities, and clubs, there have been so many great opportunities where I've gotten to grow in my leadership skills at Lebanon High School." She attributes her growth to experiences such as attending leadership camp her junior year and working in the Marine Mammals and Oceans Department at the Indianapolis Zoo for her work-based learning class.

We congratulate Bianca on this wonderful achievement and wish her continued success in her future endeavors.
