Joel Larrison Named New Principal of Perry-Worth Elementary
Lebanon Community School Corporation is proud to announce that Mr. Joel Larrison has been hired as the new Principal of Perry-Worth Elementary. The LCSC Board of Trustees voted unanimously to hire Larrison at their school board meeting on May 22.
Mr. Larrison brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. He holds an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from IUPUI, with certifications in Mild/Moderate Intervention and PE/Health P-12, and a Master’s degree in Building Administration and Supervision from Indiana State University.
With a career spanning diverse educational settings, Mr. Larrison has taught various subjects and served in administrative capacities. He has taught at Brook Park in Lawrence Township, South Grove Intermediate and Westfield Intermediate in Beech Grove City Schools, and most recently has served as the Assistant Principal at Tipton Elementary for the past two years. His teaching experience includes 2nd grade, PE/Health, math, and science, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of elementary education.
"I am dedicated to fostering strong relationships within the school community and believe in student-centered decision-making through collaboration and restorative practices," expressed Mr. Larrison. “I’m excited to join LCSC at this exciting time of growth and can’t wait to get to know the students, staff, and families of Perry-Worth Elementary.”
Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Larrison cherishes time with his family, including his three children: Wyatt (8), Henry (7), and Avery (2). He enjoys outdoor activities, sports, coaching his sons' baseball and soccer teams, and watching Premier League soccer, particularly supporting Liverpool, as well as being a devoted IU fan.
Dr. Jon Milleman, LCSC Superintendent, shared his excitement about Mr. Larrison leading Perry-Worth Elementary, stating, “From day one, the students, staff, and families of Perry-Worth Elementary will see Mr. Larrison’s energy and enthusiasm. He is a student-centered leader with high expectations. His background teaching and leading in schools with diverse student populations has helped him develop his successful strategies and programs. I am excited to see him continue to grow and improve the great things happening at Perry-Worth.”
Mr. Joel Larrison and Mrs. Mary Dickerson will make up the leadership team at Perry-Worth Elementary.
