Open Enrollment is a time period in which parents/guardians can apply for their child to attend a different LCSC elementary school than the school to which they are assigned. A limited number of applications are accepted every year.
If a student is accepted, parents/guardians are responsible for transportation. Open enrollment may be revoked immediately in the event of attendance/tardy issues or behavior or academic problems.
Parents/guardians must apply for Open Enrollment every year. If an application is not completed, the child must attend school at his or her assigned school in the fall.
2019-20 Open Enrollment
The 2019-20 Open Enrollment period is April 8-30, 2019. Beginning on April 8, parents may download the application materials or pick them up from any LCSC elementary school.
Complete Open Enrollment Applications
The complete application for Open Enrollment must contain:
- Open Enrollment application
- Letter to LCSC Superintendent expressing the reason for request
- Proof of residence (utility bill from last 30 days or lease agreement)
- Form from child's assigned school stating that child is in good standing for attendance, behavior, and grades
All applications are due to any LCSC elementary school by 4 p.m. on April 30, 2019.
No late applications will be accepted. No applications will be accepted at the LCSC Administration Center.
Open Enrollment Decisions
Applicants will be notified of their Open Enrollment decision via letter mailed no later than July 31, 2018. Applicants should complete student registration at the school he/she attended for the 2018-19 school year.
