M1: Midterm of the first 9 weeks

This is a snapshot of where grades are at 4.5 weeks into the school year. These grades will continue to be added onto and will change as the grading period continues on.

Q1= Quarter 1/End of the first 9 weeks

This grade is the total grade of the first 9 weeks of the school year.  It does not change.  This grade is equal to 40% of the semester grade.

M2: Midterm of the second 9 weeks

This is a snapshot of where grades are at 4.5 weeks into Q2. (Approximately 14.5 weeks into the school year)  These grades will continue to be added onto and will change as the grading period continues on.

Q2= Quarter 2/End of the second 9 weeks

This is grade is the total grade of the second 9 weeks of the school year.  It does not change.  This grade is equal to 40% of the semester grade. 

SE1: Semester 1 Exam

This is the final exam grade for each course at the end of first semester.  It is 20% of the semester grade. 

S1: Semester 1 Grade

This is the only grade that goes on the student's transcript.  It is used to determine if they passed the course and earned the credit to be applied toward their graduation progress.  This is what is used to calculate GPA.  

M3, Q3, M4, Q4, SE2, and S2 work the same way, but for Semester 2.

Please note that GPA and class rank are only calculated at the end of each semester! The semester grade is the only grade used to factor into this.
