The Tiger Community Ambassadors Program is designed to provide select LCSC community leaders and school district parents with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of our school and district operations.
Program participants are exposed to all facets of running a district, including school finance, academics, student services, operations and more.
Class members have the opportunity to:
- Gain first-hand knowledge of how LCSC functions on a daily and yearly basis
- See our schools in action
- Engage a dialogue with leadership on educational operational issues and to ask questions
- Develop an understanding of how our district’s anticipated growth will impact our planning and vision for the future
It is our hope that Ambassador graduates will share LCSC’s vision throughout our school community. We will turn to our Ambassador graduates for insight as we plan capital and operational improvements.

"I think community members should join this program to learn in a snapshot what it takes to run a public school and educate themselves on all the moving parts. I gained so much knowledge about all aspects of LCSC. One of my favorite things was learning a broad overview of school finance. There are so many rules and regulations that a school must follow regarding funds that without this program I would not have known. We had the opportunity to go into a couple of schools during class time and watch our teachers interact with the students. Another favorite was to go to the construction sites and check out the new spaces in the schools! My hope is to share the knowledge I gained from the Tiger Ambassadors Program with the community to help educate others!"
-Nikki Hollingsworth, 23-24 Tiger Ambassador
"I would highly recommend the Tiger Ambassador program to anyone! I gained first hand knowledge of the inner workings of public schools and public school administration. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes that I never would have known. Each meeting was tailored to a specific area and the experts in this area really gave us a chance to learn a plethora of knowledge on many topics. From the trade-in value of a school bus, to menu planning and guidelines for our school cafes, to financial responsibilities to curriculum, assessment, and grants for our schools; you learn about it all and more. We were also honored to step into the classroom at each level to really see how our teachers and staff are caring for our students academically, socially, and holistically. If you have a vested interest in our youth (and you all should) please apply to this amazing program!"
-Baili Hart, 23-24 Tiger Ambassador
"I highly recommend applying for the Tiger Ambassador Program! Through this incredible experience, I gained a deeper understanding of how our school operates at every level. I learned about the intricacies of the school's functions, from the daily responsibilities of different teachers to the strategic decisions behind our school's growth and construction projects. The program offers a unique opportunity to engage in open and candid discussions with the superintendent and other administrators, providing valuable insights into the thought processes that drive key decisions. Being a Tiger Ambassador not only broadened my perspective but also deepened my appreciation for the dedication and hard work that goes into running our schools. Don't miss out on this chance to be an integral part of our school's community!"
-Mariah Allen-Johnson, 23-24 Tiger Ambassador
