        1. Session I: 7:30 - 11:30 am
          1. English 9/10 (Ms. Murphy)
          2. Health (Coach Rodgers)
        2. Session II: 12:00 - 4:00 pm
          1. English 11/12 (Mr. Cornelius)
          2. Algebra IB (Mr. Wagner)
          3. PE (Coach Wright)
      4. All courses are one semester credit
        1. A course grade of 60% or higher is passing
      5. Maximum of 1 student absence allowed
      6. Three tardies equals one absence
      7. All school rules will apply. 
        1. Summer School discipline is minimal and may result in a removal from the course.
      8. There is no bus transportation
      9. Cafeteria service is not available
      10. Registering for summer School means there is an understanding that the student has a seat reserved and the student should report to their class on May 30, 2023.
      11. To drop from a summer school class, the student or parent/guardian must communicate with Mrs. Walker in the LHS Main Office no later than Friday, May 26th. 
      12. If a course has less than 15 students registered, then it may be canceled.
      13. Students will keep their LCSC computer and return it on June 23

    ACADEMIC ENGLISH

    Academic English in the Lebanon High School summer program is designed to focus on the student’s achieving a better understanding of all models of written and oral communication. This course emphasizes skills in literature, writing, speaking, and listening.

    Objectives of this course include students studying effective models of literature, responding to written work through their own writing and speaking, creating their own written work, and speaking in small and large group settings. Written works primarily focus on students creating organized and grammatically correct assignments that not only carry out the assignment, but also fulfill the specific standards of effective writing. Students also apply research skills in both oral and written reports.

    Students apply basic speech techniques in coordination with course assignments.

    This course satisfies one credit of the Language Arts graduation requirement.

    PHYSICAL EDUCATION                                       
      Time: 12:00 PM–4:00 PM

    Physical Education is a required one-year course for freshmen. The course is designed to develop physical skills, to improve muscle tone, to encourage teamwork and sportsmanship. The development of comprehensive knowledge of rules, techniques, and strategies is part of the program. The program is divided into various areas of concentration with emphasis on activities such as aerobics, swimming, team games, and lifetime fitness.

    This course satisfies one credit of the Physical Education requirement.

    SUPERVISED AGRICULTURAL EXPERIENCE    

    Time: To Be Announced

    Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) is designed to provide students with opportunities to gain experience in the agriculture field (s) in which they are interested. Students should experience laboratory and real-life situations at their individual training sites.

    Prerequisite:  Fundamentals of Agriculture Science & Business
    This course earns 1 credit.

     HEALTH & WELLNESS                                                                               

    Time:  7:30 a.m.—11:30 a.m.  

    High School health education provides the basis for continued methods of developing knowledge, concepts, skills, behaviors, and attitudes related to student health and well-being. This course includes the major content areas in a planned, sequential, comprehensive health education curriculum as expressed in the Indiana Health Education Proficiency Guide.

    One credit in Health is a requirement for graduation.

    ALGEBRA 1 B—2nd Semester

     Time: 12:00 PM–4:00 PM

    Algebra 1 provides a formal development of the algebraic skills and concepts necessary for students to succeed in advanced courses.  In particular, the instructional program in this course provides for the use of algebraic skills in a wide range of problem solving situations.  The concept of the function is emphasized throughout the course.  Topics include: 1. Operations with real numbers, 2. Linear equations and inequalities.  3.  Relations and functions, 4.  Polynomials, 5. Algebraic, 6. Nonlinear equations.

    This course satisfies one credit of mathematics graduation requirement.
