• E-Rate Program Overview

     

    The FCC’s E-Rate program makes telecommunications and information services more affordable for schools and libraries. With funding from the Universal Service Fund, E-Rate provides discounts for telecommunications, Internet access, and internal connections to eligible schools and libraries.

    Q: I’m looking at your 470 and I’m curious if you would accept bids for just the hardware with no install?

    A: No

     

    Q: Would you be interested in a quick call with your Juniper account manager to talk about the project?

    A: Not at this time.

     

    Q: Would you be opposed to scheduling about an hour for a demo with the Juniper team to get an idea of the technology?

    A: Not at this time.

     

    Q: Can you send building plans please?

    A: Yes.

     

    Q: You note that install of the Middle School and Elementary will be May 1st and April 1st respectively. Funding notices typically don’t happen until after these dates. What is the plan to get around this for purchasing purposes? Will the school issue a PO and use the BEAR method of payment?

    A: LCSC plans to purchase the equipment before the E-Rate funding is approved. The BEAR method of payment will be used.

     

    Q: For installation, do you want turnkey? 

    A: Yes.

     

    Q: Does the vendor need to do full set up including all configuration based on current LCSC network configuration?

    A: Yes.

     

    Q: If a lift is required, will LCSC provide this?

    A: A lift will most likely be required in some areas. i.e., GYM, Cafeteria, Media Center. LCSC will not provide a lift. 

     

    Q: Are you interested in alternate products?

    A: As the E-Rate program requires, we will consider alternatives.
