Hattie B. Stokes Principal
Mrs. Walters brings a wealth of experience to Hattie B. Stokes Elementary, having held various roles in education, including principal, assistant principal, and teacher in both Indiana and North Carolina.
"I am thrilled to embark on this new journey with Lebanon Community School Corporation and Hattie B. Stokes Elementary," said Mrs. Walters. "Building positive relationships with students, staff, and the community is at the core of my approach to education. I am honored to be part of the LCSC family and look forward to contributing to its legacy of excellence."
Mrs. Walters holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Indiana State University and a Master of Arts in Education Administration and Supervision from Ball State University. She is a National Board-Certified Teacher and was named the Indiana Association of School Principals District 8 Middle School Principal of the Year in 2021.
Passionate about student support and professional development, Mrs. Walters has championed initiatives that have improved student outcomes and enriched school communities. Outside of education, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, volunteering, and traveling.

Mrs. Maureen Rhoades
Hattie B. Stokes Assistant Principal
Mrs. Rhoades brings a wealth of experience and a strong educational background to her role at Hattie B. Stokes Elementary. A proud graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary and Special Education, she furthered her education at Ball State University, earning a Master of Arts in Educational Administration and Supervision.
Mrs. Rhoades resides in Brownsburg with her husband, Nate, and their two daughters, Maggie and Lucy. She has nine years of experience teaching 2nd and 3rd grade High Ability students, along with leadership roles on the District Equity Leadership Team and in Professional Learning Communities. She is passionate about social and emotional learning, especially through intentional classroom morning meetings.
Outside of her professional life, Mrs. Rhoades is an enthusiastic Purdue Boilermaker fan who enjoys spending time outdoors and reading.
