Career Engagement Initatives
Interested in supporting our career engagement initiatives?
Our school corporation understands the importance of preparing all students for career readiness, no matter what path they take after high school. The mission of our Career Engagement initiatives is to "bridge education and opportunities" for all students by connecting our school corporation, community and local businesses. Check out the ways your organization can get involved!

Career Day
Participate in a building-wide Career Day where you will have the opportunity to showcase your profession during three, 35-minute rotations.

College + Career Fair
Partner with LCSC to educate students and parents in helping to increase their knowledge of post-secondary opportunities. Available opportunities may be through the military, apprenticeship training, two or four year degree programs or full-time employment.

District PRIDE Initiative
LCSC believes all students need to master work ethic skills in order to reach their full potential. The goal of PRIDE is to build students of strong character who will strengthen our school district and positively impact the community.
PRIDE describes the fundamental expectations of students at all LCSC schools:
- Persistence: Student is able to persevere through challenges and problem-solve.
- Respectfulness: Students accepts and demonstrates service to others, possesses a positive attitude and communicates clearly.
- Initiative: Student is a self-starter and a critical thinker
- Dependability: Student is reliable and demonstrates responsibility and teamwork. Student also demonstrates academic readiness.
- Efficiency: Student is organized, punctual and demonstrates self- management.

Field Trips + Worksite Tours
Students visit the workplace as a group to see the business operations in action and tie this to their career interest.

Internship Placement
The objective of the internship program is to expose students to real world experiences while applying skills taught in the classroom. Our intent is for student interns to gain a greater understanding of the skills necessary to be successful in the workforce.
Basic facts regarding the internship program:
- Interns are high school seniors
- Placement experiences can be paid or non-paid
- Interns receive elective credits and complete an online class with the school supervisor
- We work to coordinate the internship time to ensure student participation is at the most optimal time for our partners
- Schedules are based upon the school corporation calendar
- The school district provides a liability policy on each intern for protection at your site

Job Shadowing Experience
A student spends time with an employee or series of employees, observing the various aspects of their specific job.

Lunch + Learns
Present to a group of students about your job, the requirements, educational level needed, employer expectations or tie your chat directly to the classroom experience.

Mock Interviews
Volunteer to assist in conducting a mock interview experience for students. Feedback can be provided and volunteers are asked to share interview tips and tricks with students.

Quarterly Hiring Fairs
Lebanon High School is pleased to host Quarterly Hiring Fairs for students in grades 9-12. Community partners interested in advertising job opportunities to students may sign-up as an exhibitor at a hiring fair. Space is limited and will be based on a first come, first serve basis.

Work Ethic Certification
Lebanon Community School Corporation is proud to provide our 12th grade students the opportunity to earn the Governor’s Work Ethic Certification. As one of a number of schools offering this opportunity, we are proud of our commitment to prepare students for their careers as well as provide employers with potential workers who understand and can demonstrate employability skills.
Employer Partners can support this initiative by offering incentives for applicants or employees who hold the Work Ethic Certification. Potential incentives that Employer Partners can provide can include but are not limited to guaranteed job interview, increased base pay, or employee discounts.
