LCSC Bus

Transportation Department

  • LCSC will provide all eligible students with free transportation to and from the designated pick-up location during the school year. Bus stop location, time, and bus number will be available beginning Friday, August 2, 2024 by visiting www.leb.k12.in.us/elink.

In order to maximize our efforts to ensure student safety and minimize operational costs, students are not permitted to change authorized routes. Any change to routes must be approved by the Director of Transportation.

    Residency Verification

To ensure transportation (if eligible) by the first day of school, verification of address must be on file no later than Friday, July 26.

    MyStop

MyStop provides GPS tracking information for our buses, and gives families more exact information about their child’s bus arrival. To use the app, download the free VersaTrans MyStop app. Then visit www.leb.k12.in.us/mystop for step-by-step setup instructions.

    Transportation Routes

In order to maximize our efforts to ensure student safety and minimize operational costs, students are not allowed to change from authorized routes. Any change to authorized routes must be approved by the Director of Transportation. Individual bus drivers, teachers, or building principals are not authorized to grant parental requests for students to change authorized bus assignments. Any questions should be directed to the LCSC Transportation Department.

    Bus Stop Guidelines
    • Be Punctual: Students must arrive at their designated bus stop five minutes before the scheduled pick-up time.
    • Safety: Do not stand on the traveled portion of the roadway while waiting for the bus.
    • Board the Bus Safely: Wait until the bus has come to a complete stop before approaching the load door; do not run beside a moving bus.
    • Maintain Order: Enter the bus in an orderly fashion.
    • Report Problems: Immediately inform the driver of any illness or injury sustained on or around the bus.
    • Assist Young Children: Parents or designees should accompany younger children to and from the bus stop as necessary.
    No Extra Riders
Due to the large number of riders on our school buses and the safety concerns that it would present, students may not have a friend ride with them. Only those students assigned to a bus are allowed to ride that bus.

    Behavioral Expectations
Behavioral expectations on the school bus are similar to those in the classroom. However, the bus's mobility, traffic, noise, and size make it essential to have clear expectations and strict enforcement. These expectations focus on the rights of everyone on the bus, including the driver, and the overall safety of all passengers. Any behavior that compromises safety is treated with utmost seriousness.
